“What I look forward to the most about carnival is it feels almost like a huge family reunion,” Pitter said. “It’s one of the only times of the year that all my friends and all of my family are in the same place. I also meet so many people who feel like an extended family. It’s truly a completely carefree day—nothing compares.”
This past July, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued the University of Miami on behalf of professor Louise Davidson-Schmich, alleging gender-pay discrimination within the political science department.
“We’re a new organization,” said Karsh, a sophomore studying Jazz Piano and Performance “We are working towards bringing awareness and peace between Palestine and Israel through various political means.”
“I think this book club will help the community by bringing up topics that usually discussed in a typical book club, such as “what is really important in your life,” or “stop and think what gives meaning in your life," clinical psychologist Cristina Pozo-Kaderman said.
