“We’re always concerned going on the road with what kind of environment we’ll be in, how we’ll play,” Miami head coach Jim Larrañaga said. “I didn’t think we did a great job, but because our defense and our offense really combined to give us the lead for most of the game, I think our guys played with a lot of confidence down the stretch.”
The Miami men’s basketball team won an offensive shootout against the Cornell Big Red, 107-105, on Wednesday night at the Watsco Center. The Hurricanes have now won six straight games at home, and their 107 points are the most they have scored in a game since 2015.
“I was very concerned because their size is a real challenge for us; we’re undersized. But our guys defended so well, they rebounded so well,” Miami head coach Jim Larrañaga said. “Our guys did a great job from start to finish today.”
With less than 30 seconds in the game, sophomore guard Nijel Pack hit a step-back three-pointer to seal the Miami Hurricanes’ come-from-behind victory against Rutgers, 68-61.
"Tons of credit to Columbia, they are a veteran team that executed sharply in big moments," Miami head coach Katie Meier said. "I think they had better game legs than we did and when we got a little bit foggy, they really burnt us for it."
With 1.4 seconds left in the game and down two points, UCF tried to purposely miss a free throw. However, ‘Canes guard Jordan Miller tipped the ball away as time expired, giving Miami a tight 66-64 win on Sunday evening.
