At last, Miami’s season is over. The Hurricanes finished with a record of 5-7 after another large-margin loss to the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. The 42-16 loss eliminated Miami from bowl contention and brought an end to what has been a nightmare rebuilding season for many.
"They’ve been an elite team for a long time," Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said. "Elite talent, big, explosive, fast, powerful guys, playmakers across the board. Really impressive up front on both sides of the ball."
Playing in front of 1,500 kids at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Miami women’s basketball began its game against Stetson by losing a point after an administrative technical foul was assessed to the ‘Canes.
“We got work to do. We got to build, we got to build man. I knew it but, we got to build, stuff like this it ain’t, it ain’t it,” Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said after the game.
“It’s good to play outside competition,” Miami head coach Gino DiMare said. “All in all, it’s good playing everyone offensively, everybody got in the game, basically everyone got three at-bats.”
“Anytime you’re in an environment like this you practice with noise,” Cristobal said. “They’ve got a great atmosphere, lot of energy lot of enthusiasm, they play great at home.”
