After a record-setting win against Louisville two weeks ago, Miami (6-4) had a week off to prepare to face former UM coach Butch Davis and the FIU Panthers (5-5) at Marlins Park, the site of the former Orange Bowl.
Not only did Williams lead Miami to a historic win, but he made history himself, throwing six passing touchdowns, breaking the record for number of passing touchdowns thrown in a single game by a Miami quarterback.
"We felt like a performance like this was coming," head coach Manny Diaz said. "The way we set the tone, the way we came out early in the game was fantastic."
Miami (5-4, 3-3) looks to get its third straight win against Louisville (5-3, 3-2) at Hard Rock Stadium this afternoon.
