With the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association (SAISA) Open Invitational on the horizon, ‘Canes Club Sailing looks to compete against Division 1 varsity programs in both the Women’s and Open sailing categories. The event, hosted on Feb. 18-19 in Eckerd, Fla., will feature the top 18 teams in the conference, including Miami rival Florida State University.
In preparation for the regatta, the ‘Canes traveled to Biscayne Bay to practice some open water racing. The club split up into Orange and Green teams and faced off in several rounds of team races. Here are some of the best photos from the action-packed practice, taken by The Miami Hurricane Photo Team.
