Fitberry closes, Gym Rat opens in Wellness Center

The idea to bring a well-loved Rathskeller-inspired menu to the Wellness Center was proposed to Chartwells, who agreed to introduce the concept in Fitberry’s previous location. Gym Rat, as it is now named, opened on Aug. 22.

UMPD commits to campus safety; student thoughts on policies

University of Miami Police Department (UMPD) Lieutenant Octavia Bridges says is committed to protecting the safety of students, staff, faculty and visitors at UM. With a year and a half in the lieutenant position, she looks forward to building connections with students and making the campus a place where everyone feels protected.

UM students celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2022

In the coming weeks, various clubs will participate in Hispanic Heritage Month to give away T-shirts at the UM vs. Tennessee football game on Sept. 24, host a Real Talk roundtable discussion on Sept. 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the LSV study halls, lead a Ghandi Day of Service on Oct. 1 through the Butler Center and throw a closing ceremony on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lakeside Patio.

Ranking Trader Joe’s 2022 pumpkin spice collection

Pumpkin spice season is here and Trader Joe’s has stocked their shelves with fall serotonin since the first week of September. High-end eating, Miami Spice, returns for its 21st year

Now through Sept. 30, food lovers can sample some of Miami’s finest establishments to enjoy three-course prix fixe menus at just $28 for brunch/lunch and $45 or $60 for dinner. With over 200 participating eateries, attendees can enjoy 30% to 40% off of regularly-priced meals at featured restaurants.

Morgan Fry

Morgan Fry is a sophomore from La Grange, IL majoring in management and marketing with a minor in journalism. She began writing for The Hurricane in the first semester of her freshman year and is excited to take on a new role as Assistant Arts & Entertainment Editor. Her love of Miami restaurants, site seeing and pop culture translates into her writing, which she is excited grow and share with the A&E section. Outside of the paper, Fry is a team leader for the Management 100 program in the business school and is involved with her sorority, Pi Beta Phi.
