“Obviously, Miami is home. It has become quite rare that a coach in any sport is able to plant such deep roots in a community,” Meier said. “Every day, I am grateful to represent this amazing university and to coach 17 years’ worth of outstanding student athletes. This is an exciting time at The U and I am thankful to be a part of all the success.”
“She’s a great tennis player, but she’s a great person,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said of Richardson. “I think she’s brought a lightness to the team and an attitude that we really didn’t have … She’s added a lot.”
“I’m just happy with the energy, happy with the way we struck the ball,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “We took care of business in a timely fashion and did what we needed to do.”
“It’s definitely surreal...It hasn’t sinked it that this is the last time I’ll be competing on this field," said senior Debbie Ajagbe, a Miami native who owns the program record in the discus. “This is definitely my track family, and they’ve been there for me through thick and thin, and I really appreciate all they’ve done to support me.”
“We took care of business today. I was happy with things coming off of a tough Friday,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “I’m proud of how they responded and I’m looking forward to a great end to our home slate next weekend.”
“Notre Dame looked like the better team today,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “They played bigger and more aggressive. They deserved this one.”
As a child, Amy Deem relished the West Virginia countryside, roaming its mountainous terrain with six of her closest friends – four dogs and two horses.
“This experience was amazing for college tennis,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “To bring any team in here, to play in this environment is incredible. I think it puts an element of excitement into what we’re doing, and I think that every kid needs that. I’m really happy with the outcome, with the crowd, with everything.”
“Not our greatest match, but we found a way to get it done today,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “We have to get in a great week of practice and look forward to a competitive Columbia team.”
“You have to show some respect to the University of Miami Hurricanes,” Morales said. “Everyone has been doubting us, but this is a great team. We are going to prove everyone wrong”.
